Looks fun, doesn’t it? Well, I can tell you—it wasn’t just any ordinary fun, it was a day filled with excitement and adventure. A real outventure!

On May 25, two years ago, we had the incredible opportunity to step outside the office and explore an active construction site. In the picture to my right is Engr. Frenesi, whose dedication and efforts made this day possible. After spending eight consecutive days working on worksheets (not that I’m complaining!) and dealing with the constant ringing of telephones, it felt like a refreshing change of pace. The muggy and cold atmosphere of the office was replaced by the raw energy of a construction site.
Truth be told, I had an amazing time out there. It felt like a glimpse into my future as an architect—observing, inspecting, and learning firsthand about how a site operates. It wasn’t just about the work, though; it was about camaraderie. We all communicated better that day, built friendships, and shared laughs. The hands-on experience made me feel more connected to the work I was studying and gave me confidence in my path.
We took countless photos to capture the moment, and some of us even suited up in engineer gear for fun snaps (which you can check out on the next page). It was a day that not only gave me a break from routine but also solidified my passion for architecture and construction.
Reflecting on that day, I realize how important it is to step out of the usual office environment and immerse yourself in real-life situations. It taught me the value of teamwork, observation, and communication—all crucial skills for my future career.
